I’ve added window sills and trim to finish off the glass block windows. Both the bathroom and laundry room have these glass block windows.
I also added some plastic channel trim around the shower tile where it meets the drywall.
Fraudulent house flippers conceal building problems, passing them on to unsuspecting buyers. Victims take on major financial burdens, and recovery may be impossible.
I was able to save 2 of the doors during the initial demolition. Today I rehung one of them in the bathroom, and another in the new bedroom. I also saved some bi-fold door from the closet demolition and repurposed them for the new mechanical closet. Meanwhile, I’ve ordered completely new doors for the laundry room, bedroom closets, linen closet, and water and sewer service closet.
Something is wrong with the wood grain vinyl flooring because the corners are lifting. The flooring company has been investigating the possible cause. They’ve brought in their distributor. They’ve also brought the manufacturer in to take a look at the problem. Everything was installed to the specifications, so they can’t seem to figure out what is going on.
We purchased the bathroom vanity over a year ago. We’ve been waiting for the walls and floors to be finished so we can install it. Today was the day! Amáda and I carried in the cabinet and top. Later I connected the sink drains, new faucets, and installed the backsplash.
Amáda moves on to painting one of the bedrooms. Meanwhile, I customize a door for the hallway linen closet.
I measure and cut trim for every room in the basement. I’m keeping the saw and its mess in the garage. This means I have to measure the wall, climb the stairs, put on my shoes and coat, put on my PPE, measure and cut the trim in the cold garage, dust myself off, take off my PPE, take off my coat and shoes, descend the stairs, test fit the piece, label the back side, and repeat. This process is going to take several days.
Meanwhile, Amáda has made great progress with the painting. She has finished one bedroom and moved on to the other.
Today I accidentally dropped my phone in the hardware store parking lot. Someone picked it up and took it to another city. It’s gone, and so are all of the photos I had stored on it over the last 4 months.
